Ernest Chu

Ernest D. Chu is an ordained minister and the assistant pastor for the Center for Spiritual Living, Ft. Lauderdale, for more than 15 years. He is the author of the best selling book, Soul Currency: Investing Your Inner Wealth in Fulfillment and Abundance, already been translated into 6 major languages, and endorsed by Deepak Chopra, Jean Houston, and more than 20 leading spiritual teachers and best selling authors. He has appeared on more than 100 national and international radio and TV shows including the Oprah Winfrey Show in Nov. 2010. Dr. Carolyn Myss describes him as having “the gift of the visionary, much like Bill Gates.”
He began his career covering financing at the Wall St. Journal which eventually led to a storied career as a partner at a boutique investment banking firm, becoming the first Asian American allied member of the New York Stock Exchange in 1970, a venture capitalist and an advisor on financing emerging business to then President, Jimmy Carter. A highly successful serial entrepreneur, he took three of his companies public, and helped to build four more startups into substantial companies.
His life took a drastic turn when a business setback left him more than $1 million in debt and virtually destitute. He chose not to declare bankruptcy because it would preclude him from ever working in the financial arena. Broken and distraught, he found Religious Science, and within 18 months he resolved and paid off all his debts, and rebuilt his prosperity from a changed perspective. He entered ministerial training and became a minister in 1999.
He founded the Soul Currency Institute in 2006, and his courses, books, interviews and articles have inspired thousands. He is also the Chairman and financial officer of Green States Energy, Inc. a fast growing solar utility that builds solar farms for small to medium sized cities and municipalities in the Midwest to Mid-Atlantic States. GSE was started as a project of the Soul Currency Institute to demonstrate how to build a conscious yet highly profitable company from scratch during difficult times.
A graduate of Amherst College, Rev. Chu currently resides in Deerfield Beach and Clearwater, Florida with his partner Maria and their 3 cats.
