Some things defy understanding. I've been studying the teachings of New Thought Mystic, Emma Curtis Hopkins. Over and over, she encourages her students to be faithful to a "practice," without trying to understand how or why it works. Not the easiest thing for my egotistical left brain. But everytime I work the practices, "miracles" happen...good ones! So, the practice this week (if you choose to accept the assignment) : When you have a challenging situation in life (or business!) 1. Quit complaining, 2) Praise the situation and 3) Declare it to be GOOD ...NOW! Don't try to understand why this practice works!! Just do it, and .... let the miracles begin!

It's Snowing
It finally started snowing! The forecasters predicted this for 2 days - in the midst of sunshine. But no snow til now. Interestingly, people agreed that there would be snow, they expected the snow, they prepared for it and looked for the evidence ("Is THAT the first flurry?"). Hmmm.. what would life be like if we agreed that our Good (Prosperity, Success, Love - you name it) was on it's way? What would it be like if we expected that Good, prepared for it, looked for the smallest evidence and then celebrated the demonstration? Just sayin'....
Everyday Intentions
The other day, I was contemplating how my Mother-In-Law, at age 75, began using all her beautiful antique china and crystal every day. What she once saved for special occasions, now became an opportunity for enjoyment on a daily basis.
What things do we "save for special?" I noticed how the practice of setting intentions for our selves - for our GOOD - was saved as a New Year's ritual. That highly dependable and miracle-producing technology was held captive in the proverbial china cabinet of our minds, to be brought out and savored once per year.
I invite you to throw open the china cabinet doors and practice intention-setting every day...even for the smallest and most mundane of concerns. How about claiming that the upcoming meeting with your boss or with your employees, results in harmonious agrement around the new stragegy for growth. How about affirming that the marketing project is easily and joyfully finished today? How about knowing that even though you left 10 minutes late, you arrive at your appointment calmly at just the right time, fully prepared?
Just like the Big Intentions at the beginning of the year, these smaller, daily intentions profit from being written down, producing results that will fill you with awe. You can't know this, though, unless you try it out.
So, get out a brand new notebook, and every morning, write down your intentions for GOOD for the day. Keep writing for 15 minutes...ALL the GOOD you can conceive of for that day! (Truly... there's no limit!) Then, bless all that you've written.
The NEXT day, review your intentions and note with glee which ones manifested. (Trust that the ones that don't APPEAR to have worked are still "cooking.") Give thanks! Then start the process all over for this new day.
I'm speaking from experience. I've used this practice for years and so has my very successful sister. As a result, our experiences of life, business growth, faith and confidence have risen to new heights. And we've witnessed some incredible miracles in the everyday-ness of life! Open up that china cabinet, experiment and discover the joy of daily GOOD!
