In Response to Hurricane Harvey SE Texas Disaster:

Our community has a long history of responding constructively to disasters. In light of the scope of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey, we are acting and encouraging people to respond individually and collectively to provide spiritual and material support to our neighbors in need in SE Texas. As with hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, and other disasters we’ve responded to in the past, the affected communities need help now, and for a long time to come.

Ways you can help:

1)  Spiritual Support (Pray): we ask everyone to send your love and prayers for swift relief and the highest good for all affected people, animals and environment.

2)  Material Support (Donate): CBW has been guided to help right now by donating money to folks already active in the response work. We are donating $1,000 from the CBW budget, to the Houston Food Bank, Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, and Houston Humane Society.  If you can further help by donating funds, please consider doing so.  If you haven’t decided on a recipient yet, information on these and other very helpful organizations are listed below.

3) CSL Team Trip to SE Texas:  We are looking into a CSL response team trip at an appropriate time (likely 2018).  If you are interested in going on and/or otherwise supporting a CSL relief team trip, please contact Tim Brincefield (

If you have additional suggestions how to maximize the impact of our compassionate response that you’d like to spearhead please contact the CBW team.
