I started on a formal spiritual path, studying with Rev. Kathianne Lewis at the Center for Spiritual Living, Rev. Annette Lake from One Vibration Radio and various other teachers and practitioners. What I have found is that there is a force for Good greater than anything I could have ever imagined and it is working in a conspiracy for Good in my life. It is true for me, and I believe it is true for you.
My personal Mission Statement is: I use my delight and devotion to facilitate a world of sustainable joy & harmony where everyone has a place to feel safe, loved & valued.
"My vision is to build a spirit-filled community that empowers individuals to realize their potential."
Diann Durbin

Diann’s involvement at Center for Spiritual Living has varied greatly since she began attending in 1993. A member since 1997 and Practitioner since 2000, she has assisted in teaching several classes and served as lead instructor for both Spiritual Practices and First Year Practitioner Training. She has facilitated small groups, mentored volunteers and staff, stuffed envelopes, designed and led retreats, visioned for the community at large and ran sound and lights for a few years! According to Diann, it has truly been a wonderful adventure.
“The Center for Spiritual Living has given me a teaching and practice that has been powerfully life-giving and life-affirming in addition to providing a community of people that I dearly love and appreciate. From this community I have made beloved friends and chosen family, including an amazing and empowering life with my loving life partner. I am so blessed!”

Who I am
My Purpose
My life’s purpose is to enlighten, enliven, gladden, comfort, heal, motivate, and inspire everyone I meet to live free and thrive!
My passion is hearing peoples’ stories because your story contains the essence of your potential. My joy is sharing how to apply Science of Mind principles in order to accomplish your most cherished Good.
Background
I was raised Catholic and studied Buddhism for 20 years. Both those experiences, plus extensive study in psychology and religion, led me to the Center in 2005 and I’ve been here with both feet ever since. Blessed with the gift of gab and a persistent curiosity, I made a beeline for practitioner studies as soon as I was qualified.
In the world
My lay activities include a long career in writing in many fields—computers, healthcare, film, etc.; an executive position with a California hospital trade association; and preparation to teach secondary English and remedial reading. I have more education than anyone needs, all of it centered on communication.
Participation at Center for Spiritual Living
I have found my home in Religious Science and contribute wherever and whenever I can. Some places I’ve served: Women in Spirit Expressing (WiSE), the Women’s Group, Body by Spirit, Compassionate Heart Ministry, TA for numerous classes, co-teaching Spiritual Gifts, newsletter editor and contributor, and more.
Fee
As a licensed professional, I charge a fee. My fee is $75 per private session. I also do group sessions at $35 per person with a minimum of four people.
I don’t have a sliding scale. Instead I have three pro bono clients at any time (people who are out of work) and we work together at no charge.
FAQs
What is a “practitioner?”
In general, a practitioner is someone who practices a learned profession. A Religious Science Practitioner is a licensed spiritual counselor and coach trained to give support by applying affirmative prayer to life’s challenges.
Why see a practitioner?
- For specific support with a life challenge.
- For ongoing support of your growth in spiritual awareness.
What happens in a practitioner session?
- We settle in and set an intention for how our session will unfold.
- You tell me what conditions in your life you want to change and what you want to experience instead. I listen.
- I may then suggest a spiritual practice for you that supports and solidifies what has been revealed in our session.
- Lastly, I say an affirmative prayer that speaks to the quality of Good you want to accept into your life and to replacing any limiting beliefs with those that support your intentions.
We part on this positive note.
What is “affirmative prayer?”
This is prayer that brings our thinking and feeling into alignment with the Truth that infinite Good in-dwells and surrounds us in the form of love, harmony, peace, wellness, abundance, prosperity, and any other Good we can imagine.
Contact
I am available for spiritual coaching and counseling to reveal the divine, prosperous, joy-filled wholeness that is you. Appointments can take anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours, depending upon what’s needed. The fee is the same.

As a licensed practitioner, my gift is inclusivity (all are included, together we are one). My ministry is Love and Unity. My passion is playing with small group Practitioner sessions creating inclusive, accepting, supportive, empowering, inspiring, and loving connections. The first thing I want you to know is "you are perfect right where you are in your life." In the small group sessions I teach spiritual principals—tools that include the power and freedom of choice to make changes as you choose. I practice and teach sacred witnessing, prayer, meditation, and visioning as a way for you to feel safe, included, and loved, supporting you to connect more consciously to your higher self no matter what your life situation is.
