The Summer of Peace around the world

I just received the following information about an event happening in Jerusalem this Thursday. Now, I’m not going to make it to this event, nor do I expect anyone reading this to hop on a plane, however, we can send participants our love and prayers on Thursday as well as be inspired to do something similar. What about a Seattle Hug? Or a big hug around City Hall or the County Buildings? What about hugging areas of town known for violence? Why let Jerusalem have all the fun?

Here’s the Jerusalem invitation.

We invite you to participate in an exciting and historical event that you and the world will remember for the rest of time. Together we will stand, thousands of us, holding hands, creating a colossal human chain, forming a hug that will surround the walls of Jerusalem’s old city as we stand as one.

The Jerusalem hug has been taking place for the last six years. People all over the world have joined, people of many colors, beliefs and languages.

Come brothers and sisters, join us, participate. Each and every one is important. Come with a heartfelt intention and spread the word to invite your friends.

Please check the website for current info!

(Note: Jerusalem time is 10 hours ahead of Seattle time.)

Do bring water, and musical instruments! Wear lightweight, long clothing (to protect from sun in the day & chilly evening – and to respect modest residents of the area)
