Stop, Look, Listen, Pray

As I watch the impasse in the US government concerning raising the debt ceiling, I find myself genuinely concerned. Not only for the possible hardship that I’m told average people like myself and my friends will have to endure (I must admit I don’t really understand this issue so can’t address it), but because the two sides can’t seem to compromise. As of Sunday, we are at an impasse.

So, I ask us all to stop, look at our own lives for places we won’t budge on an issue, listen to those we have termed "wrong" and pray that as we loosen the ties that bind our soul’s evolution, our leaders will loosen the opinions that keep our country stuck in "right and wrong" thinking.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
