You never know when the end may come.

You never know when the end may come. That truth was etched a bit more deeply in my consciousness as I did a memorial service for a gentleman I had spoken to only two Sundays before. Human life is fragile. Human life is precious. And while the Divine Life is Immortal and Eternal, the sweet unique personalities we interact with on this Earth won’t be with us in form forever. It’s okay to miss the form. This gentleman had a lot of friends who will deeply miss being with him. It’s comforting to know your friend lives on. But you can still miss the phone calls.

I left the memorial with an even more solid conviction to live each day as though it was a gift. Because it is. And I want to enjoy my family and friends all I can while I can still call them on the phone.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
