Packing for Seabeck

I seldom look forward to things any more. I pretty much enjoy the day as it unfolds, taking it a day at a time; the past is gone, the future unclear. That is, except at this time of year when many of us at CSL start packing for Seabeck. This week together with my spiritual family is truly the closest thing to Heaven I’ve ever experienced!

I can’t wait to see what crafts we’ll be doing, who’s in the talent show and if anyone wants to play hearts with me in the bookstore. Some of my most vivid, playful, heartfelt moments have happened at Seabeck. And, it still holds a magical place in my heart.

This year will have special meaning for many of us because it will be Carmin Dalziel’s last year at Seabeck as camp co-director. I can’t wait to see how the magic of Seabeck lifts us all up even in the grief and sadness of Carmin’s departure.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
