The Sabbath

Webster’s Dictionary defines Sabbath as "a day of rest and prayer." The next word defined after Sabbath is Sabbatical and the root of Sabbatical is (no surprise) Sabbath. One of the definitions for Sabbatical is "any extended period of leave from one’s customary work." I guess that pretty much describes my absence from Center for Spiritual Living in February. I’m taking time away from office/church work to spend extended amounts of time resting in Spirit and praying for myself, my loved ones, and the precious planet.

I really look forward to this time, and even though I will be using my accumulated vacation leave, I don’t only see this as an opportunity for fun and recreation, but also as a time for inner discovery and soul refreshment.

I will conduct the "Deep Listening" retreat February 12th-14th, but see this as an extension of my month-long spiritual contemplation to include others. The same with the Wednesday service I’m doing on February 17th as a kick-off to 40 Days to Freedom. This too is just drawing the circle even larger to include even more in a collective consciousness of spiritual dedication.

Once in a while I may write on the blog any new or profound "Aha!"s I have during my time away. I want to share any "gems" I receive from Spirit.

In the meantime, enjoy this month of Love by telling everyone you care about how much you love and appreciate them.

I love you!
